With a few exceptions, you have the absolute right to confidentiality in your therapy. This means I cannot share with anybody what you have said in your sessions without your consent to do so.

There are a few situations in which I cannot guarantee confidentiality. While I will always endeavor to let you know before taking action these circumstances include:

- If I have reason to believe that you are at serious or imminent risk of physically harming yourself or another person.

- If I have reason to believe that a child or dependent adult - or an animal - is suffering from abuse and/or neglect.

- If you are involved in a court case and your records have been subpoenaed; and please keep in mind that this action will mostly likely include any email interacts we have had as well.

Additionally, if you or your partner, decide to do some individual sessions, I will consider those sessions as part of the couples’ therapy. To that end, while the content may be initially kept private to help an individual member of a couple process how they want to talk with the other about challenging information, it will most likely end up being explored in our joint sessions. To that end, do not tell me anything you wish to keep secret from your partner.

My fees are in line with British Columbia practitioners.

Emergency phone calls of less than ten minutes will not be billed. However, if we spend more than ten minutes per week on the phone, I will bill you on a prorated basis for that time. Payment is due at the end of each session via cash, cheque or e- transfer. The fee includes GST.

The services provided by an RCC in private practice are sometimes covered by extended health benefits. If you have an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), you may want to check to see if your sessions with me can be at least partially covered. They may also be tax deductible as a business expense.

Your appointment time is reserved for you. To avoid be charged for a missed session, I require at least 24-hours cancellation notice. Of course, if there is a true emergency situation, you will not be billed.
